September 6-9, 2016

Tuesday-

• How to have college-like academic talk around text?
• First read of, "If Cornered, Scream"
• Assessment of basic comprehension by using a quick write on story

Wednesday-

• Genre day 1-Students will know Realistic Fiction, Science Fiction, Action/Adventure, Horror, and Folk Tales
• Annotation day 1-Students will learn how to annotate a text (mark, take notes, etc.) based on character.
• HOMEWORK-please sign up for Remind (I will text/email you assignment, text, project reminders)

Thursday-

• Annotation day 2-Students will learn how to annotate a text for different purposes.  They will annotate for plot.

• Reader/Writer notebooks will be returned and grades for the first rubric will be posted on PowerSchool. 

******PLEASE CHECK YOUR STUDENTS POWERSCHOOL OFTEN FOR GRADES**** (If you need help, please let me know)

Friday-

• Assessment-Students will annotate a 1-page paper using annotation model from Wednesday.
